SPECIALIST PERMISSION REQUIRED: Entry permits are required for almost all visitors since August 2025. Authorised vessel and landing-site conditions apply; no visitor accommodation ashore, and no guaranteed landings. South Sandwich Islands are offshore-only research references. A SPECIALIST EXPEDITION REFERENCE, NOT A NORMAL HOTEL-BASED HOLIDAY. South Georgia can be visited by appropriately authorized expedition vessel, but landing permits, operator approvals, weather and wildlife-protection rules govern every stop. The South Sandwich Islands are not presented as routine passenger-landing destinations.
